Amaryllis
Description
Amaryllis is a traditional Christmas plant that starts from a large bulb that should be planted with about the top-third of the pointed end exposed from the soil. A warm location is preferred when starting to bloom, however the life of the bloom can be extended by placing the plant in a cooler location overnight. The bloom spike will emerge first before the foliage and lowers can range from deep red to white, pink, salmon, and even double-blooming varieties. Thorough watering should be given when the soil feels dry to the touch.
