A broadleaf evergreen shrub, Japanese Pieris (also known as Andromeda) is a brilliant show of color even when not in bloom. Its leaves emerge bright red, turning mahogany before finally turning to green. Its leaves are narrow and elongated, radiating around the branches. Dense habit with white, long-lasting lily-of-the-valley-like fragrant white blooms in early spring. Prefers to be in moist, shady locations.
