2001 Hosta of the Year
Ranked #1 out of 8000 varieties of Hosta by The American Hosta Society members! It is beautiful, with many different looks depending on the amount of sunlight it receives. A light, creamy-yellow-gold center surrounded by a dark blue-green margin of irregular width that streaks to the midrib with some of the streaking lighter green where it overlaps the yellow. The light center will bleach to creamy-white in bright light. One of the very last Hosta to go dormant. Violet flowers appear in July-August. Best situated in partial sun though it is tolerant of more sun.
