Description
‘Royal Standard’ is a large hosta. It resulted from a cross between H. plantaginea and H. sieboldiana. It grows in a mound to 26″ tall but spreads to 63″ wide. Narrow, oval, bright medium green leaves (to 9″ by 5″) with a satiny sheen have faint marginal undulations, distinctive veining, acute tips and cordate lobes. Highly fragrant, funnel-shaped, white flowers bloom in late summer to fall on leafy, pale green scapes rising well above the foliage mound to 42″ tall.
