Description
‘Red Dragon’ is a slow-growing, compact deciduous tree with pendulous branches and elegant, dissected leaves reminiscent of a dragon’s claws. Emerging bright, scarlet red in spring, the delicate foliage of ferny, lace-like leaves matured to dark burgundy in summer before changing to crimson-red in fall. Forms an elegant, cascading mound. ‘Red Dragon’ prefers full sun but needs protection from cold winds and summer drought.
