Description
The Saucer Magnolia is a spreading tree with a profusion of large, fragrant, goblet-shaped white flowers that are shaded with pink and purple. The flowers bloom on pare branches before the leaves appear. The green leaves turn golden brown in fall, leaving the smooth, silvery bark to show off for the winter months. Upright growing when young, it becomes more rounded and broad, spreading with age. A very hardy tree, but like other early-blooming Magnolia varieties, a late frost can damage the flowers. Plant in full sun or part shade.
