Description
The foliage of this new and improved purple-leaved Redbud cultivar has glossy purple foliage that holds its color all season after blooming the typical pink pea-like Redbud flowers. ‘Merlot’ has a nice, compact, semi-upright habit and improved heat and drought tolerance. An improvement in nearly every way over the older purple leaf varieties. Best when situated in full sun.
