Fiveleaf Akebia Vine, also known as Chocolate Vine, is a hardy twining vine with graceful foliage and small chocolate-pink flowers in May that are followed by violet fruits in summer. Best planted in full sun but is adaptable to more shady locations.
Prefers average to moist, well-drained soil, rich to organic matter. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep root system.
Spreading, climbing. Height: 15-18 feet. Spread: 3-6 feet.
Dark green leaves hold their color well into the winter.
