Description
This deciduous conifer grows 50-75 ft. or taller. In its youth is pyramid-shaped, but these even off to a columnar shape in adulthood. Sage-green leaves, which appear to be needles (but are not) resemble feathers, turning shades of copper, orange, cinnamon, and tan before falling. The feature that bald cypresses are really known for, though, is their “knees”, that help with aeration of the roots and stabilization of the tree.
