Description
Referred to as P.P.E. for short, this is one of the oldest Clematis cultivars and a winner of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit. And it’s no wonder—P.P.E. is large, grows quickly, and is incredibly floriferous all summer long. P.P.E. is great for those just starting out with Clematis, as it’s durable and easy to maintain. The small–to–medium blooms are fully double, with recurved and twisted sepals that resemble rosettes. When the sepals drop, the resulting pompon center can remain for weeks.
