Description
Part of the Honeymoon series of Hellebores, ‘Rome in Red’ has flowers in rich tones of maroon to wine red with glowing golden centers that are accented with ivory stamens. Blooms very early in Spring or even late winter, often with snow still on the ground. Site these where they will stay for many years, since the plants resent being disturbed. Trim the old leaves to the ground in late winter to give the flowers maximum impact. Caution, harmful if eaten and can be a skin irritant.
