Description
The Gala Apple is a well-known variety today, producing firm, juicy, fine-textured fruit with a yellowish-white flesh and sweet, slightly tart flavor. The outer skin matures to a bright overall red color with bold red stripes over a yellow background. Blooms mid-April and requires a pollinator such as ‘Honeycrisp’ for best fruit production. Fruit ripens early (late August) and stores well, up to 6 months in regular storage. A semi-dwarf variety.
