Spirea ‘Double Play Artist’
Spireas have long been a popular choice for the landscape, and the Double Play Series is bred for colorful flowers and foliage, with ‘Double Play Artist’ producing rich purple-red new growth and vibrant pink summer flowers. Very little pruning is required, although deadheading will enorurage reflowering. A very low-maintenance plant, Spireas are adaptable to a variety of soil conditions and environments. Best if planted in full sun.
Spiraea japonica 'Galen'
Prefers average to moist, well-drained soil, rich in organic matter. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep root system.
Rounded, compact habit
Purple-red new growth turns green.
Fuschia-pink flower clusters bloom in May-June.
