A standard in many landscapes for years, Yews are a very hardy and reliable, easy to grow evergreen shrub that adapts well to a variety of applications. Hick’s Yew is an upright, columnar shrub with evergreen needles that are dark green above and light green below, that produces bright red berries in fall, however these berries are toxic if ingested. Will adapt well to full sun or shade.
Taxus x media 'Hicksii'
Prefers average, well-drained soil, rich in organic matter. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep root system. Evergreens prefer an acidic fertilizer.
Upright, columnar habit.
Needle-like leaves, dark green above and light green below, hold their color wel througout the year.
Inconspicuous flowers; Bright red berries in fall. Fruit is NOT edible.
