Cherry, Sweet ‘Bing’

The Bing Cherry is the best of the sweet cherries and is by far the most widely produced commercial variety. Fruit is large, deep garnet to almost black, firm and sweet. Blooms late April and requires cross-pollination to produce fruit, so it is reccommended to plant along with the Rainier cherry. Fruit ripens in late June. A semi-dwarf variety.

Prefers average well-drained soil, rich in organic matter. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep root system. Pruning helps to encourage fruit production.
Elongated green leaves turn yellow in fall.
Fragrant, white flowers in late April.
